Raising Consciousness: What is Spiritual Love Meaning?
Start Your Day on a HIGH NOTE!
Inspirational Teachings from Dr. David R. Hawkins for a Spiritually Awakening World
Today seemed like the perfect day (Valentine’s Day 2021) to share Dr. Hawkins’s view on spiritual love and to answer the question,
“What is spiritual love?”
In the video “Doc” brings to light the fact that we all are unconsciously loving in one way or another.
He shares a story as an example of this.
The story is about making the chrome drip pan on top of the stove cleaner.
The implication is that there is the presence of love within us that “does” the cleaning.
The intention could be that you are cleaning this for someone else, but the simple fact that you are doing it, for this or any reason, is evidence of a love present.
Spiritual Love Takes Many Forms
Love takes many forms like duty, caringness about everything, commitment, loving your body, presenting yourself in a way that you know your significant other loves and appreciates, etc…
It takes on many expressions.
So the spiritually-minded could dismiss these as they are not necessarily the ultimate expression and awareness of love at higher levels of consciousness.
Indeed, we are all operating at different levels of consciousness on a wide variety of topics. However, just because we may be working from expressions that are not 500 and above on the Map of Consciousness® does not mean we’re not loving.
So the recommendation is to realize that love comes in many forms and nurtures all its forms of expression within us.
Notice and appreciate when lovingness arises within you without even thinking about it.
That is the omnipresence of love itself.
Always available.
Always present, regardless of appearance or perception.
This becomes more of conscious awareness as you enter levels of consciousness at 500 and above.
Finally, at 540 on the Map, it becomes evident as you are removing the blocks to unconditional love and inner joy.
In our current level of mass consciousness, love is typically defined as romance. However, as you remove the blocks to love at higher levels of consciousness, “romance” becomes more mature and lovingness prevails as a way of being in all you do.
What’s Immature Love?
Immature love or romance is when you fear losing something that you perceive the other one fulfills for you.
Immature love is perceived as something that can be won, gained, lost, or taken away from you. So there’s an underlying fear about love. It can ultimately manifest in the form of jealousy, divorce, or a breakup.
This is lower levels of consciousness at play.
Spiritual Love is Something Different
It is the awareness of love within you at all times.
“In reality, love is a way of being in the world, love is actually a style, a way of being it’s a way of holding yourself, and life and every aspect of life in within an overall context and that overall context gives it a different meaning significance, a different importance…it is just as important to polish the chrome as it is to save someone dying on the street…”
In essence, spiritual love is the capacity, willingness, and intention to be that for the world.
Your choice to be loving towards another even for a moment throughout your day sends out a significant wave of loving consciousness into the word that off-sets any negativity or crabbiness you may have experienced earlier in the day, as an example.

What is Spiritual Love as Opposed to Romantic Love?
Don’t get this wrong; there can be romantic love experienced within spiritual love, but it is experienced as a different overall love quality. As Dr. Hawkins said, it’s the purpose of eventually loving towards all of life in all of its expressions, regardless.
When one commits to another at higher levels of consciousness like loyalty (360) and faithfulness (365), the lovingness comes naturally at these higher levels. The spiritual love meaning is different and purposeful.
There’s no “shoulding” about being loyal or faithful to another as it’s inherent in these levels of consciousness.
It’s a maturing of the evolution of one’s own consciousness.
What is romantic love as currently perceived in society?
Remember, the world is of lower consciousness in general (50% of the USA calibrates below 200, 85% of the world calibrates below 200)
Here are some things to ask yourself:
Why do you want a romantic relationship?
Are you hoping someone will fulfill a need within you?
Or do you love yourself unconditionally and would like to share that expression with another?
Is being in loving relationships sufficient for you?
Do you feel you “should” be married with children, as an example?
Do you feel, like I did, that if you didn’t meet the one you will marry in college, you’d never get married!?! This was a mass-consciousness belief I held unconsciously…
How would you feel if your significant other ended your relationship? What are you feeling?
How would you feel if you were presented with divorce papers today?
What about an unexpected death?
Your feelings about this will reveal the consciousness level you may be perceived on the topic of love and romantic love in general.
If trauma, fear, and loss are predominant, it would be good to understand romantic love vs. spiritual love.
If relief, joy, and wanting the best for another are predominant, you may be aligned with the spiritual love meaning.
Romantic love has underlying currents of seeking love outside of ourselves. These are signs of unwillingness to be loyal or faithful and feeling hurt or not spiritual love.
If you are “shoulding” yourself about being loyal or faithful to another and don’t really feel like being that way for another because they “don’t deserve it,” don’t judge yourself for feeling the way you feel.
This is simply a sign that there are blocks to spiritual love, loyalty, lovingness, and faith. Those blocks can be removed through spiritual intent, inner work, and surrendering those limitations to love.
I have found it’s easier to find something or someone you can be loyal or faithful to, like a beloved pet or an innocent child. This is a great “starter kit” to opening up to more lovingness within yourself and developing maturity in spiritual love.
Soulmate VS Twin Flame
Swimming around in the minds and hearts of many of us is the romantic notion of soulmates and twin flames. There IS a good reason for this as the theory of both of these is of higher consciousness and holds some significant spiritual truths. Soulmates and Twin Flames calibrate in the 300′s on the Map of Consciousness. This is the level of consciousness in the land of willingness.
It’s commonly understood that soulmates can and usually are relationships beyond just the romantic. The twin flame relationship can be misperceived, depending on the level of consciousness you may be in that type of rare relationship.
The bottom line is that the spiritual love meaning is held at a level of loving regardless. Romantic love is not really born as a necessary part of a spiritually loving relationship. It’s more of an unexpected joy when it shows up. It’s not expected, demanded, or required in mature loving, spiritually-minded relationships that are more committed partnerships than anything else.
I have found that as you release lower-level emotions as they come up, it’s easier and more comfortable to be loving. Spiritual lovingness is a natural consequence of your intention to be this for the world.

NOTES ABOUT CONSCIOUSNESS CALIBRATIONS IN GENERAL:
All calibrations are based on Dr. David R. Hawkins decades of research into consciousness, and the Map of Consciousness® that came from this research, so as to put into context where true, constructive power really exists and where it doesn’t.
The Map of Consciousness® is a logarithmic scale of 0-1,000, where 100 on the Map of Consciousness® is 10 to the 100th power, 200 is 10 to the 200th power, etc. The higher you go up on the Map, the more quantum in nature the power level comes.
Any calibration below 200 holds no truth and no power and is destructive in nature. See more about the lower levels of consciousness here.
TRUE POWER begins at 200 on the Map (10 to the 200th power) and it is the level of COURAGE. In order to turn around anything that’s negatively oriented in your life, you need to step into courage on the matter in order to do so. See more about the higher levels of consciousness here.
