More Tips for Being Present in the Moment

It is helpful to understand what is blocking you from being present in the moment.

Here’s some signs:

  • You are “already always thinking” ahead.  You are clearly NOT being present in the moment, you are in some non-existent future.
  • You are triggered by something that leads to emotional reactions.
  • Your mind is racing like a rat on a wheel in a cage.
  • Lack of focus

According to consciousness research and the teachings of Dr. David R. Hawkins, our lower levels of consciousness are the expression of our lifetime of suppressed and repressed emotions.

It’s essentially a build up of lower levels of consciousness energy in the system.

The expression of this build up of energy can present itself as lack of focus, reactive emotionality, “monkey mind” and the inability to be present to the moment.

So what are some exercises for being present in the moment and tools for improving relationships?

It’s pretty common knowledge now:

  • Mindfulness training is the practice of being present in the moment. Come into awareness as to what mindful living really is.
  • Meditation training is the practice of letting go of the thoughts, and being present with the moment. It’s allowing thoughts and emotions that come up during meditation to come up and simply fade away. It’s the art of putting your attention on something else besides the mind like your breath, your heart chakra, or parts of the body, like you’ll find in a really yummy guided mediation known as Yoga Nidra.

As a teacher of consciousness and a practitioner of the mechanism of letting go, I have found that learning how to let go and break free from the struggle (with lower levels of consciousness) is the quickest way to freedom and the ability to be present to the moment in almost every situation.

It’s not only a tool for relationships, but a gateway to building foundational basics for a better life!

Dr. Hawkins, discovered the mechanism of letting go in his psychiatric practice and in his consciousness research. He found that the mechanism of letting go was like a rocket ship in shifting people into higher consciousness vs traditional psychotherapy, that he likened to a horse and buggy.

Just so you know, Dr. Hawkins was an esteemed psychiatrist for one of the largest psychiatric practices in New York City. He’s seen tremendous suffering in the human condition and knows from whence he speaks! He is also an internationally renowned & recognized  advance spiritual teacher of enlightenment and levels of consciousness.

I have been practicing the mechanism of letting go for over 5 years, and people tell me how present they feel I am with them. Others simply hug me and tell me they love me!

Learning how to let go on a continual basis is highly productive and incredibly freeing. It is not always easy, but it becomes easier and easier as your own level of consciousness rises and enables you to handle the letting go process more readily and enjoyably.

If interested , I highly recommend my videocast or podcast of the episode of how to let go.

The bottom line of the art of mindful living and being present in the moment? Learn how to let go of lower levels of consciousness and stop expressing, suppressing and repressing lower level emotions. Learn how to let go!

Tips for Inspiring Change in Relationships

Now, it’s common for many of us to want others to change to please us.

Hello!?!

Can you admit this is how you {maybe secretly} operate?

Not only that but you really, really, really wish people would change so that conflict and disappointment would end.

Sound familiar?

Well…

guess what my answer to this dilemma is gonna’ be?

It’s not a new revelation, but it may be a new understanding for you here today.

I am going to suggest that you “Be the Change” you wish to see in relationships.

Whatever it is about another that you disapprove of is simply a “match” to the energies (or consciousness) going on within you.

This is what it means when someone says they’re being a mirror for you.

Again, the practices I described above for being present in the moment with another is the pathway to change in relationships and your life, for that matter.

You need to take a look at the issues or behaviors you dislike about another and be willing to accept the same levels of lower consciousness are brewing within you.

When you let go of the “energies” of the lower levels of consciousness that bug you about another, the conflicts will dissolve and disappear all together. You are much less likely to attract those energies again.

I have noticed, and Dr. Hawkins points out, that when you let go of “stuck emotions” or suppressed and repressed emotions, you can have issues disappear all together and you don’t even notice it any more. They’re not present or “vibrating” in your energy field. And they are no longer present to magnetized similar “energies” (or consciousness) to you.

Give it a try.

There’s no silver bullet {necessarily}, but significant progress can be made with the  intention of the process and willingness to do the inner work.

Another significant point to make…as you let go of more and more lower consciousness, your perceptions change! Relationships become much less “needy”. You won’t seek approval from others and you don’t need approval from others. And it’s not a righteous pride thing, it’s a balanced, standing in your own sense of self thing.

It’s incredibly rewarding and meaningful.

Welcome to higher consciousness on a more regular basis!
